Bakageta-Koto

Greetings and salutations! Do you have an original character you'd like to possess artwork of? Or, perhaps there aren't many examples of artwork for a canon character, and you'd prefer that there were more.

I am a graphic designer currently attending school and between jobs, and am looking to both aid my payment of bills and to expand my current portfolio. What better way to do so than by helping individuals such as yourself bring life to your character?

If you are interested, please do send me a fanmail on Tumblr (bakagetakoto.tumblr.com/) or a message on DeviantArt (bakageta-koto.deviantart.com/) containing the following information:

      + Series / Character - Who is your character and what are they from?
      + References - What sort of pose do you have in mind? What does your character wear? Do you need help designing clothing? Does your character have any identifying features like tattoos or scars? What kind of mood would you like the piece to have overall?

Once your commission has been accepted, I will proceed with sketching. Two or three sketches will be made based on indicated mood/pose. You are welcome to choose your preferred sketch and request alterations. Please be aware I will not further progress work on your approved sketch until half of the commission price has been received.

When I have received half-payment, I will finalize the piece. If, for some reason, there is an extended delay in finalization, I'll be certain to notify you. When the artwork is completed, I will send you a watermarked, low-resolution copy of the piece, and wait for the second half of the commission payment.

As soon as it is received, I'll send you the high-resolution, watermark-free files! Because I work in vector graphics, which ensure that your piece will look excellent regardless of how large you make it, I will include both a pdf and a png file.

      + You are free to use this artwork in any personal (noncommercial) manner you please, with the exception of adding it to your gallery. I will not use the image of your character for profit, only as commission examples or in my professional portfolio.

Stressful week is stressful. Still, I've got quite a few cool things in the works, so it'll be worth it. Like growing pains. Hopefully. Grump. Grump.

I heard about the earthquake last night, but I honestly didn't think much of it. I was told it was bad, but then Japan is supposed to be known for its earthquakes, isn't it? The news footage was... startling, shocking, and terrible all at once. I have never more seriously considered donation to the Red Cross before. Even though I don't have much, I still want to give some of my something to the people who were so suddenly left with nothing.

Our thoughts are with you, Japan.

Looks like I've got a bit of time between various deadlines, so I've been working on fun things that I want to work on. (Graphic design is one giant balancing act, I swear.) In other news, I've been reading a GIANT, very, very early Spiderman collection. The original stuff is so amazingly cool! (Even if it is rather corny and convenient once in a while.) If you like Spiderman, and if you can, I suggest you read the early stuff. By the way, Mary Jane hasn't shown up yet as of issue #17. She just doesn't exist. XD I had no idea!

I know lots of other artists on DA have had work stolen from them, but I've never really thought about it in relation to me. I guess I should feel great that I'm good enough to steal from. I don't.
